Mount Rainier is a 14,410 foot stratovolcano located in the Cascade Range in Washington State. Mount Rainier National Park was established in 1899, and includes all of the mountain and surrounding glaciers, valleys, subalpine meadows, and old-growth forests. The park is a popular destination for hikers, mountain climbers, plant and wildlife enthusiasts, and photographers. I've also noticed a fair share of spiritual seekers, amateur astronomers, and old car enthusiasts along the twisty scenic roads.

Back in 2007, I worked at Mount Rainier as a live-in volunteer conservationist for three months. Our crew was responsible for pulling invasive weeds, harvesting native seeds, controlling erosion, and replanting disturbed sites. I took some pictures with my little old camera during that time, but the majority here are taken from a more recent trip. I hope to add to this gallery in the not-too-distant future!
